BIA JUPEB
A redesigned website for Boma's Intellectual Academy, which prepares students for JUPEB, a route into 200 level at Nigerian universities. It explains the programme, publishes fees in full and leads prospective students to the admissions team.

01
Overview
Families comparing JUPEB centres want plain answers: what the programme is, what it costs, when classes hold and how to apply. The site is organised around those questions.
It replaced an earlier static HTML version; old URLs redirect permanently to their new pages.

02
The problem
The academy needed a site that ranks for the questions students actually search, builds trust with real results and people, and turns a visit into a call or a visit to the centre.
03
Approach
I rebuilt it with Astro so every page ships as static HTML, with small scripts only where interaction needs them.
Content sits in structured files (team, testimonials, achievements, official figures), so updates do not mean editing layouts.
Accessibility and responsive layouts are checked with axe-core and a Playwright run across screen sizes.
04
Architecture
- Site
- Astro static build served by Vercel, with permanent redirects from the legacy site.
- Content
- Structured content collections for team, testimonials, achievements and official 2026 information.
- Quality
- Unit tests for fee calculations, axe-core accessibility checks and responsive browser tests.
05
Key features
Programme and admission information
What JUPEB is, who it suits and how admission works, with clear calls to the admissions line.
Fees in full
Registration, programme and tutorial fees for 2026/27 taken from the official payment advice.
Timetables
Weekly class timetables for the first semester and the free online classes before resumption.
Guides for search
Articles answering common questions, such as JUPEB versus IJMB and getting into UNILAG through JUPEB.
Proof
Success stories, a hall of excellence, the team and a gallery.

06
Challenges
Not promising what does not exist
Problem
An enquiry form implies someone receives and tracks it.
What I did
Until a backend exists, calls to action go to the admissions phone line and the centre. The data model for tracked enquiries is ready but deliberately not switched on.
Moving without losing search traffic
Problem
The old site's pages were already indexed.
What I did
Every legacy URL has a permanent redirect to its new page.
07
Where it stands
Built
- Redesigned site live on the academy's domain
- Fees, timetable, guides, team and success stories
- Redirects from the previous site
Planned or in progress
- Stored and tracked admission enquiries, once a backend is in place
